Etsy Scams: Protect Your Shop

Unfortunately, even with two-factor authentication (2FA), my Etsy shop was hacked recently and lots of scam messages sent out from my account. Here’s what happened and how you can protect yourself:

What Happened? Despite having 2FA enabled, someone gained access to my account and sent messages to customers, causing confusion and potential harm to my reputation. You can watch my story over here on YouTube.

Steps to Protect Your Shop:

1. Regular Password Updates: Change your passwords frequently and use a strong, unique combination for each account.

2. Monitor Account Activity: Regularly check your account for any unusual activity or unauthorized changes.

3. Secure Your Devices: Ensure your devices are secure with updated antivirus software and avoid using public Wi-Fi for managing your shop.

4. Educate Yourself: Stay informed about common phishing scams and other security threats​.
